Mexico

Cancun

It's Cancun, need we say more? Nightlife, powdery sand, the ooh ahhh experience.

Resort Suggestion: HardRock Resorts is offering an $1800 resort credit to use any way you'd like (golf, spa, tours, or indulgence). Keep in mind Hard Rock Resorts are all family friendly, therefore probably wonderful for a wedding but maybe not for a honeymoon.

Playa Mujeres, Cancun

Home to the whitest sand in Mexico and the top resorts inthe world. You cannot go wrong with this choice. Take part in whale and shark watching tours, amazing snorkling andentures or relax at the spa with a cocktail

Resort Suggestion: Excellence Playa Mujeres. Has been rated over and over again for best overall experience. Option for a two story suite!

Riveira Maya, Cancun

Was once a fishing village and now has been transformed into offering the very best of high-end luxury resorts, fine dining, nightlife, spa retreats, shopping and golf in Mexico. The Riviera Maya is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Mexico with expansive stretches of powdery white sand and clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Resort Suggestion: Secrets Maroma Beach

Huatulco

The centerpiece of Huatulco’s charm is a series of nine bays, encompassing 36 beaches and numerous inlets and coves, each with its own unique setting and ecology. All are noted for their dream-like beaches of golden sand and crystal clear water, yet the bays remain delightfully unspoiled, sometimes accessible only by boat.

Resort Suggestion : Secrets Huatulco, Jr Suite Ocean View. Most Bang for Buck and wonderful food.

Akumal

You’ll definitely see coral and beautiful fish in the clear, sparkling waters. This tourist-friendly little town is about an hour south of Cancun—but it seems light-years away.

Resort Suggestion: The Newest Resort to don the coast, Secrets Akumal

Probably one of the pricier options but most new of the Secrets properties meaning the best of the best in spa, rooms, and more!

Florida/ California

If your vacation dreams are meant to be state side

either because you have to bring children or because you only have a few days to enjoy and not an entire week. Check these out.

Trump International Hotel Sunny Isles FL

About 30 minutes from South Beach Miami, so you can venture there for a night of night clubbing if need be.

Has wonderful amenities and modern rooms. Resonably priced in comparrison to neighboring resort.

Hawks Cay

Duck Key FL

Not All Inclusive

Fairly Resonable for Island Resort. Nice contemporary look and upscale feeling yet not so much that you would be scared to let your child in the lobby.

Fountain Bleu Hotel South Beach FL

More reasonable of the coastal resorts there if you have Hotel Delano dreams and a smaller budget. Right in heart of South Beach, close to shopping and tons of restaurants. Take trolly tours and boat tours of miami.

Terranea Resort, Southern California

The resort where they filmed portions of the movie "This is 40" Strikes me as the best location on the OC coast for intimate resorts and you can still go venture to a winery or another resort for a day. It's in the OC and has the qualities of a out of country beach vacation still.

These are just a few suggestions I've found while trying to plan a long over due honeymoon for myself and my husband and I hope you find it just as helpful.

Regardless of where you decide, don't pass up even a small honeymoon. It's key to connecting as partners and is very important for relationship building.
